Central CX league Round 1
Great start to Central CX league today at Welwyn, always a great course. The Cyclones had a great start with Tas and Jake Competing in u 10's. Tas getting a great third she had battled the hills to beat off the other girls for and Jake had a furious race, sprinting up the hills and leaving all the older kids standing to come in 2nd. Very impressive.
U12's today saw a huge field of racers some excellent tactical racing by Amelia, saw her placed third. Amelia's stamina allowing her to pick off competitors one by one on the hills - definitely worth doing all that hill climbing practice last Monday. Eddie Did Cyclones proud with a determination to ride everybit of the course, he slogged up that hill, it was a long course for the youngsters today.
Massive field for u14/u16 & novices today, the course had two double sets of hurdles -one half way up a hill, which certainly took its toll. Charlie C and Dominic had a fantastic battle against each other in u14's - they managed to take a lap each with Dom just taking it on the final lap -placing 11th and 12th, we also took Joel from WVCC as his Dad is doing a charity ride in France this week, he came in 18th with plenty of the field behind him so great racing for him too. in the U16's Josh came in 4th which was a good placing in this new category, Will raced cross for the first time today and had a great race (no photos sorry I must have snapped every rider wearing blue except Will Deely). We even had KCC riders in novices today with Ian Bird and Mike Deely showing the youngsters some great techniques. Mike is the blue flash in the background of Joel's hurdles photo! I have a great tutorial video of Ian hurdling, I'm sure he will want to use it for his level 2 Coaching! And finally Andy had a great race later in the afternoon as well!
